Jumpline Review

Jumpline ReviewsJumpline is a web hosting company that has been in business since 1997. They provide services to well over seventy five thousand personal websites and businesses. They are based in Columbus, Ohio. They host sites for people in each of the fifty states in the United States as well as over one hundred and thirty countries all over the world. Their hosting services include packages for VDS Web hosting, VPS Web hosting and Shared Web hosting. They also have domain name packages as well as dedicated server availability. (much like Hostgator) You will find that they offer many of the same amenities as other web hosting companies.

Jumpline Features

Jumplines systems are backed by Dell Servers and Cisco Networking equipment. They have ties to Qwest Communications and DataCenter101 which should allow them to provide excellent service to their subscribers. They provide a large amount of storage space and monthly transfer capabilities. You can have between fifty POP email accounts up to an unlimited amount of POP email accounts depending on the package that you choose. Some of the packages allow a dedicated IP address for your business. All of the packages include Dell Power Edge Servers and redundant Cisco Networking. They also all include the use of IBM Backup Utility which provides a daily three tier backup. The backups are stored for fifteen days. Also included in the plan is the Apache 2.0.52 and Linux Red Hat Enterprise Server 4.0.

Jumpline Support

If there is a definite drawback to using the Jumpline service it would be their customer service and support staff. There have been many complaints about extremely long hold times when trying to address a problem and when a representative gets on line they are not able to answer the questions that the consumers have. The ideas behind this service are great as long as you do not need any help with it. You may find yourself very frustrated with the service if you need to contact them for help.

Jumpline Uptime

Jumpline says that they can give you 99.9% uptime on your website. While this is true in most cases, there have been several complaints that their email systems are down more often than they are up. They have been able to maintain a large customer base by providing very good uptime but there are times that they do not live up to that guarantee. Their servers run at a fairly decent speed so this should not be an issue with this web hosting service. However a much better option in terms of uptime would be GreenGeeks.

The Bottom Line with Jumpline

We do not recommend that you do business with Jumpline. There are a large amount of unsatisfied customers that have had to deal with extremely poor customer service and a risky uptime with this company. While they have many amenities to brag about, the bottom line is that if the services that Jumpline provides do not allow your business to operate smoothly on a daily basis without interruptions, there are other much better web hosting services to trust with your business. Jumpline provides some great promises but they do not come through with it in the end. There are better web hosting services and I recommend you read my Fatcow and InMotion review. Still not convinced that Jumpline is a horrible web hosting service. Check out all these complaints on Jumpline web hosting.
