Site5 Review 'Site5 has a HUGE client base and is one of the leaders in the web hosting world. In fact, they have 32 full time staffs in the United States, 4 full time staffs in India, 2 full time staffs in Australia, Canada, Serbia, 3 full time staffs in the United Kingdom, and 1 full time staff in Romania. There team is one hundred percent remote and they work from their homes which make them one of the greenest web hosting companies available. (Much like Fatcow) Chances are if you are anywhere on earth you should be able to reach a agent for Site5.

I do not think Site5 is a horrible company, by any means, but in this Site5 review you will learn that they could do some key things in order to improve their service.

Features

Like most web hosting companies Site5 offers the standard shared hosting, reseller hosting, VPS (Virtual Private Server), and dedicated hosting packages. Cloud hosting is another great feature that a lot of hosting companies are not offering today, but you can get a cloud hosting plan for pretty cheap ($22.50/month).

They offer unlimited disk space, bandwidth (except for there "Hostbasic" package), free migration to Site5, website builder, backups, dedicated IP, redundant failover abilities, web stats, shared SSL Certificates, FTP and SFTP, MySQL databases, ect.

One problem that people are having with Site5 is their script support though. If you are a hardcore developer you will soon find that a simple RoR can be a huge hassle. The support for PHP is rather limited, but this is do to security reasons. With Site5 your site can actually get shut down with rogue scripts, which a lot of people haven't really had a problem with at other web hosting companies, such at Hostgator and InMotion, but for some reason Site5 will terminate your account for that.

Uptime and Reliability

Site5 is a very reliable company and past users are never really experiencing any downtime. In fact they do honor their 99.9% uptime promise (Much like iPage). They are a very cheap web hosting company and do offer a lot of plans and their customer support is pretty good. As mentioned above their customer support agents are in house, but you can expect a response very quickly. In fact, users are quoted in saying "damn that was fast."

People are also reporting that their speed is above the industry standard, seeing how they are huge company and can afford to go with the latest hardware.

Bottom Line

All and all Site5 is a pretty good hosting company, but they do have some flaws with their script support. There support is good at the moment, but lately have been getting a couple complaints, here and there. I would not do business with Site5 just based on the fact that they don't have very good script support. If you are looking for a good hosting company that will accept any kind of script I would go with InMotion or Lunarpages.
