UltraHosting Reviews UltraHosting has been in business for over twenty five years, since 1983 to be exact. They have over one hundred and fifty employees that are trained to answer any questions that you may have and help you troubleshoot your problems. They have over 200 IT industry certifications that include being a Microsoft Gold Certified Provider. They offer several different services to their customers including Linux VPS hosting, Windows VPS hosting, Windows Xen VPS hosting, Colocation Services and SSL certificates to secure your ecommerce transactions. All of this is possible due to their exclusive data center that is seventy thousand square feet and keeps your information very safe. Their VPS servers are very flexible and you have the option of expanding or making changes to your service at any time.

Features

UltraHosting’s hosting programs are compatible with 32 and 64 bit computers. They off MySQL Hosting as well as free snapshot backups or restores. There are not set up fees involved in doing business with them and the offer round the clock technical support for their clients. They offer a minimum of 5 GB of disc space. You can get up to 50GB of space with the higher level plans. The bandwidth offered is between 200GB and 1500GB and the memory offered is between 256MB to 2048MB. You can purchase extra bandwidth or additional IP’s for a small monthly fee. They do offer support for your services. Depending on which plan you choose, you could have between fifteen minutes and two hundred and forty minutes of support hours included your monthly fees. They provide remote rebooting services for all of their plans and service monitoring for most of them. They do offer an advanced server monitor but it only applies to the two most expensive plans. All of the plans include some ftp backup space (on the dedicated servers) and most have a preferential hourly rate.

UltraHosting Support

Ultrahosting has bragging rights to over one hundred fifty employees that have many different technical certifications from the major software and hardware vendors. They will give you direction on which plan and enhancements will be best suited for your business and can help you with any concerns that arise. They own their own data center that is very large and secure. While it seems that they would have the expertise that it takes to manage such a great service, there are many people that would say differently.

Uptime

UltraHosting is one company that will promise 100% uptime with their services. This seems like a good promise but if you read the terms and conditions on their website you will see that you are agreeing that if the systems go down, UltraHosting is not responsible and they will try to get it back up and running within a reasonable amount of time. If they were so sure there would be no downtime, why put this into their legal jargon?

The Bottom Line

We do not recommend using UltraHosting for your business needs. There are many fees involved with their packages. The basic support functions are free with their services but if you need trouble shooting, a reinstall, or custom configuration for your control panels or operating systems you will pay a substantial amount to get it. These services are included in the price per month for some other competitors. I would highly recommend you read my Hostgator or Fatcow review if you are looking for a host with good customer support. Still not convinced that UltraHosting is a horrible web hosting service.
